Press release -
DDScad goes BIMx: Mobile Access to Projects At Any Time
Version 18 of the building services design software, which debuted at the show, has been linked to Graphisoft's award-winning presentation tool to help trade professionals and planners can better coordinate with other participants on the construction site and control construction more efficiently. With BIMx, three-dimensional building models, plans and project information can be displayed free of charge on a variety of different devices and operating systems.
Using a new feature in DDScad 18, users quickly transfer the information they want to publish - from the entire model to specific component information - to the app as needed. In BIMx, project data, area information and masses are bundled on a mobile platform and are thus available anywhere and at any time to all construction participants in a paperless manner. This is not only very practical; thanks to the model representation in 3D, specialist tradesmen and planners can also offer their project partners an attractive service.
For this purpose, the application has been enhanced in such a way that, in addition to the building, it now also clearly visualizes electrical installations and, in addition, links the published project information with the displayed building model. This makes it possible, for example, to jump directly from electrical distribution documentation to the switch cabinet in the 3D building model in which a component being searched for is located.
BIMx is available for tablets, smartphones, desktop PCs and as a web app for the browser. For more information, visit bimx.graphisoft.com.
