Press release -

ALLPLAN at the digitalBAU 2024

Design-to-build solution portfolio, innovation talks and BIM training program are at the focus of the trade fair appearance

Munich, February 7, 2024 - ALLPLAN, global provider of BIM solutions for the AEC industry, will be presenting its entire portfolio of solutions for interdisciplinary collaboration between architecture and engineering firms, precast plants and construction companies at the Nemetschek Group's joint stand in Hall 1, Stand 301 at digitalBAU in Cologne. One highlight will be the innovation talks with proven experts on the topics of life cycle assessment, artificial intelligence, metaverse and point cloud technology. The company will also be providing information about its BIM training program - from basic certificates to postgraduate courses.

After 2020 and 2022, digitalBAU - the trade fair for digital solutions in the construction industry - will be held in the Rhine metropolis for the third time. From February 20 to 22, 2024, more than 250 exhibitors will present their products for digital planning, construction and operation.

Dr. Detlef Schneider, CEO of ALLPLAN: "digitalBAU is a must-attend event for everyone involved in the digital transformation of the construction industry - including ALLPLAN, of course. We are looking forward to the opportunity to present the many facets of Allplan as a holistic design-to-build platform to visitors. We will show how our solutions are revolutionizing the entire design and construction process, especially through the integration of AI and the opening up of new horizons in the metaverse."

ALLPLAN will be presenting a complete overview of its software range at the trade fair. Trade visitors will be able to get a comprehensive picture of the new Allplan 2024 version, which covers the entire planning and construction process from the first draft to execution planning for the construction site and precast planning in line with the motto "Design to Build". BIM workflows will be presented at a total of nine workstations - from the Design2Costplanning method for time-saving construction cost management to solutions for energy-efficient planning with AX3000 and BIM Easy, the BIM content package for digital office standards.

Innovation talks: AI, metaverse and point clouds

Innovation talks on current trend topics will take place on all three days. Felix Kretschmann, Senior Product Manager at elevait, will kick things off with a discussion on AI-based life cycle assessment with Stefan Kaufmann, Product Manager BIM & New Technologies at ALLPLAN. The focus will be on the following questions: Which properties have the greatest potential for refurbishment and which measures will bring the greatest benefits? The AI startup elevait is working on an AI-based solution that provides answers quickly.

Metaverse technology maximizes the added value of BIM in collaboration and creates immersive architectural experiences. ALLPLAN is cooperating with two start-ups that will present their Metaverse solutions in the second Innovation Talk: Jochen Knecht, an expert in the digitalization of sales processes, will show how he uses Allplan and the Metaverse to bring providers and prospective buyers of real estate together in virtual buildings long before the ground-breaking ceremony. Vrex, a startup from Norway, will also be presenting virtual construction meetings in the metaverse. Vrex's customers are real estate developers, infrastructure operators and construction companies. With the Vrex solution, virtual BIM meetings can be prepared quickly. The models are taken from Bimplus; issues are synchronized between the platforms in real time.

The third Innovation Talk deals with AI-supported modeling from point clouds. The use of 3D laser scanning brings benefits for everyone involved in renovation projects. With the help of the point cloud, a holistic survey is created, from which 2D plans and BIM models can be quickly created with Allplan. At digitalBAU, Dr. Ralf König, Managing Director of Scalypso and expert in the field of point cloud processing, and Simon Stemmler, Managing Director of the Fraunhofer IPM AI spin-off bimeto, will present the status quo of AI workflows in as-built modeling with Allplan and discuss the future of digital twins in building planning.

Into the future with education

The construction and real estate industry has recognized that BIM is fundamentally changing the world of work. In order to take advantage of the associated opportunities, companies need to prepare their employees through training and further education programs. ALLPLAN will be presenting its BIM training portfolio at digitalBAU, which includes both software-independent and Allplan-specific training formats, from basic training to expert programs for BIM coordinators and BIM managers.

Students can find out about the new features of the current Allplan version from the Allplan Campus Team. There is also a checklist for starting a career, free Allplan licenses and online training courses.
